Wedding Photographer San Galgano Abbey: A magical place for a splendid wedding
I can say with certainty that the dream of every wedding photographer in Tuscany, but also in the rest of Italy, is to take photography at San Galgano Abbey near Siena.
The peculiarity of this ancient abbey dating back to 1300 is the lack of the roof, collapsed centuries ago during a storm. This feature makes it absolutely unique and thousands of tourists remain entranced by the beauty and exclusivity of this place.
It is for this reason that many married couples, especially foreigners, a dream of celebrating their wedding in the magical setting of the Abbey of San Galgano.
Wedding Photographer San Galgano Abbey: Get married in San Galgano
As a wedding photographer San Galgano Abbey, I am always very enthusiastic when I have the opportunity to take photography in this place, as well as being a very suggestive and romantic place, the fact that it does not have the roof creates interesting light effects depending on the inclination of the Sun. I really like being able to use light to create more dynamic and contrasted wedding photographs with clear and well-defined chiaroscuro.
However, Ines and Kyle decided to celebrate their wedding in the Chapel of San Galgano in Montesiepi, an ancient hermitage built in the place where the noble Galgano retired and lived until his death. It was consecrated in 1181 and it is famous for the presence of the sword that Galgano would have placed in the rock as a sign of renunciation of worldly life. The proximity of the hermitage to the abbey allowed me as a wedding photographer San Galgano Abbey, to take beautiful photography after the ceremony.
Ines & Kyle have chosen Villa Podernovo as the venue for the preparation and wedding reception, one of the most beautiful agritourism around Siena and 10 minutes from San Galgano. A place surrounded by greenery in the Val di Merse, a geographical area between the Crete Senesi and the Maremma, a rustic but very well-kept in every detail. The reception should have been carried out outdoors but shortly before the ceremony, a violent storm hit Chiusdino, forcing the structure to organize the indoor dinner.
Fortunately, after the ceremony, the sun was out again and we had time for a couples photography sessions at the Abbey of San Galgano. The sun accompanied us for the rest of the day, giving us the opportunity to take more couple portraits at the Villa Podernovo during the sunset, to enjoy the cake and dancing under the stars.
