An elegant wedding in the Tuscan countryside
Every time a couple writes to me because they are looking for a wedding photographer at Villa Catignano, I am super happy and I always cross my fingers so that it can be their choice.
I really love this place, it is among the wedding venues in Tuscany that I prefer the most, for its beauty and versatility.
The main villa consists of elegant apartments full of unique details. A wonderful frescoed room where often the newlyweds can prepare before the ceremony. The farm is built in the typical style of the Tuscan farmhouses that offer apartments with gardens in rustic Tuscan style. The Italian garden with its characteristic hedges, the large lawn with the big jars of lemons, and the view of the city of Siena are the perfect place to organize a symbolic outdoor wedding ceremony and an aperitif in the shade of the grove of oaks and cypresses near the lemon house.
But the highlight of Villa Catignano is certainly the courtyard in front of the Villa where there is the ancient well, the perfect place to organize an outdoor wedding dinner under a sky of lights.
When I have the honor of being able to work as a wedding photographer at Villa Catignano I am always struck by how this location can adapt to any need and desire of the bride and groom. It lends itself very much to any type of customization because of its elegant antique style but at the same time also rustic, allowing it to be a perfect setting for elegant, country, boho-chic, vintage, and minimal weddings.

Ariana & Josh decided to organize their symbolic ceremony outdoors on the lawn in front of the Italian garden so the guests could enjoy the view of the city of Siena.
To then toast together and relax with friends under the shade of holm oak trees before moving to the dining area where two elegantly set up imperial tables were waiting for the dinner in the center of the court.
We took half an hour before sunset to take some romantic but dynamic and spontaneous couple portraits. Take advantage of the beautiful lemon house, the space in front of the ancient church but also the countryside around the villa, among the vineyards and dirt roads in the olive fields.
After dinner, the guys and their friends went wild in the stables with the Hora Loca: a Venezuelan tradition that involves the rotation of 50 songs to dance non-stop at an unbridled rhythm and full of energy, and then enjoy a well-deserved midnight snack, the tequenos!
My experience with spouses
Ariana and Josh are a couple of disarming beauties, but that’s not what struck me most.
I was enchanted by the deep emotional connection that was found in the harmony of their gestures, the energy of their movements, and the intensity of their looks. If I had to summarize all this in one word, I would definitely choose “passion”.
I really appreciated the unconditional trust that they responded in me, the education and respect that they had for me and my work, and the warmth that they showed me during all the time we spent together. They can seem obvious things that in reality are not at all and that make a difference to me. When you feel that the couple trusts you, you feel stimulated and free to do your job to the best of your abilities.
I leave you the vision of a very small preview of the photos I took as a wedding photographer at Villa Catignano, with the hope to be your choice if you are just looking for a photographer for your destination wedding in Tuscany.
