An elegant gay wedding at Villa Corbinaia
It is not the first time that I take same sex wedding photos in Tuscany, but I can say that all times it’s always a great emotion and responsibility.
Being a very sensitive person I always really care that couples, who get married and decide to have me as their wedding photographer, feel totally free and comfortable together with me.
And it’s not easy to build trust with people you meet for the first time on one of the most important, exciting, and intimate days of their lives. Especially when you don’t know how they live their sexual orientation in a country that often shows itself to be judgmental and uncomfortable with diversity.
That’s why I was very happy to have met Steve and Matthew in person a few months before their same sex wedding in Tuscany and take their pre-wedding photos in Florence.
It was a way to get in touch with them as a couple, observe their way of being together and in front of the camera and talk together about the details of their wedding day.
Together with Debora and Simonetta of the Tuscany Wedding Team, they conceived and realized a wonderful and elegant gay wedding at Villa Corbinaia. I was amazed by the beauty and elegance of the floral arrangements for the symbolic ceremony in the garden and the setting of the two imperial tables for the outdoor dinner. A riot of white flowers beautifully combined with greenery and framed by crystal chandeliers, to recreate a refined, elegant, fine, and exclusive atmosphere.
Same sex wedding photos In Tuscany
Villa Corbinaia is a unique location, located on a hill in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, combining the elegance and luxury of the finely furnished interiors, with the charm and authenticity of the architecture of the Tuscan tradition. Carefully tended, Villa Corbinaia offers the opportunity to take advantage of the many different spaces to adapt to the tastes and needs of couples who want to get married in Tuscany.
Steven and Matthew chose to celebrate their symbolic ritual on the terrace overlooking the Chianti hills and then move to the pool to enjoy the aperitif with their friends and relatives.
After our wedding portrait session, between the various spots that the estate offers enjoying the magnificent sunset light, we moved into the Sfinge garden for dinner. A space surrounded by columns and arches overlooking the valley.
The crystal room was the setting for the cake cut and the first dance, a bit of 80’s dance music to warm the soul and then go wild in the fireplace room for the party until late at night.
My experience with spouses
The first word that comes to mind when I think of Steven & Matthew is “delicacy”. I found their way of interacting deeply reserved, and elegant but at the same time full of love and respect.
I really liked the composure in living their emotions and the shyness with which they responded to the affection shown by friends and relatives.
I tried never to invade their space made of complicit looks and shy smiles and to grasp the delicate essence of their love.
I thank them very much for having considered me up to their expectations and for the affection that they and their friends have shown me.
Now it’s time to let you see a small preview of the same sex wedding photos in Tuscany with the hope that they can be a source of inspiration for your wedding day in Italy.
