An elegant wedding at San Galgano Abbey
Taking wedding photos at Villa Podernovo is always an immense pleasure. It is a location that I particularly love, both for its rustic structure and extreme attention to detail in perfect Tuscan style, both for the hospitality that Diana, owner and manager of the structure, reserved for me.
Wedding photos at Villa Podernovo always show a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. It is a perfect location to spend a weekend of wedding celebrations with friends and family. The outdoor spaces allow you to organize the aperitif by the pool, the ceremony under the age-old oak tree, and dinner in the courtyard or front of the Villa. The solutions are multiple, able to fulfill every desire and satisfy every taste and style.
I happened many times to take wedding photos at Villa Podernovo but I can say that every time the style and air you breathe are different. From boho chic weddings to intimate and modern weddings; from festive and rustic weddings to relaxed and elegant weddings. Just like in this case, an elegant but informal, relaxed and fun wedding in Tuscany.
Wedding photos at Villa Podernovo
Natasha and Daniel have chosen to organize the ceremony of their elegant wedding at San Galgano Abbey: a magical and unique place, a church dating back to 1200 that has the peculiarity of no longer having a roof.
A very beautiful and evocative place where you can celebrate the civil wedding ceremony recognized by the municipality of Chiusdino.
After the ceremony, we could not fail to take wedding photos at San Galgano Abbey, a romantic and exclusive setting for memorable couple photos. The beauty of the place is unquestionable, but what can greatly affect the success of the wedding photo shoot, is the light.
With no roof, the sun enters the church creating strong contrasts, especially when the ceremony time is in the middle of the day. It is not easy to manage the light, especially during the ceremony because there is no way to change anything, just follow the events and look for shots that enhance the newlyweds and the place. Talk aside instead regarding the couple portrait session, where you can play with the light and use it in your favor.
And it happened just like that with Natasha and Daniel, who got married at a time when the light was stronger and harder. But it was not a problem, between some passing cloud and some different points of view, we managed to have a good result!
After the wedding photos at San Galgano Abbey, we returned to the Villa to enjoy the aperitif by the pool before the outdoor dinner.
Between courses, we took advantage of the magnificent sunset to take some more wedding couple photos in the garden around the villa.
After dinner, the cake cut was done outdoors under a starry sky, then moved to the hall inside the villa for the first dance and to unleash the soul to the sound of punk rock music.
My experience with spouses
When I think of Natasha and Daniel I immediately think of their shy sweetness. I found them of extreme delicacy and elegance. I have always moved with discretion and with respect for their spaces and their emotions, being intrusive is my biggest fear when I work.
I already know that by definition a photographer who wants to capture emotions and live them together with the spouses, cannot be transparent and detached. However, the limit between participation and intrusiveness can be tenuous if you are not sensitive enough to perceive the limit and respect it.
I found myself very well with them and it made me smile the breath of vivacity, warmth, the festive air, and the unconventionality that their friends brought to their wedding party.
At first, they seemed like two far-off worlds that then became one in the sharing of their emotions and in the expression of the affection that binds them.
A wedding that I loved very much and that I hope I was able to describe through this preview of the wedding photos at Villa Podernovo that you are about to see.
