Wedding Photo Shoots In Florence at Villa le Piazzole

Wedding Photo Shoots In Florence

This was the first time I was able to make a wedding photo shoots in Florence at Villa le Piazzole. Most of the locations chosen by the spouses are located in the Tuscan countryside and when it happens to discover beautiful places in my city, I’m very happy. I’m very lucky to live in one of the most popular places for couples who decide to organize their destination wedding in Italy.  An elegant historic residence belonging to the family Acciaioli, located in a corner of paradise, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards a few steps from the center of Florence. It is rare to find such elegantly restored structures in places full of peace and relaxation only 3 km from the city.

Villa le Piazzole in Florence is an ideal location for organizing a Tuscan wedding. In addition to the historic noble building where you can stay with your guests, it has a beautiful Italian garden where you can set a long imperial table for your reception dinner with the guests. A relaxing area with a swimming pool overlooking the typical Tuscan landscape where you can enjoy an aperitif with your friends. An ancient open-air amphitheater ideal for cake-cutting under a starry sky, a lemon-house perfect for a plan B, and finally also a small chapel to celebrate the rite of your wedding. But if you prefer an outdoor ceremony, there is no shortage of solutions.

Getting married in Florence

Sophia and Sten contacted me to take their wedding photo shoots in Florence at Villa le Piazzole last summer. They are a couple of unique sweetness, always smiling, extremely kind, and open. They’re those people you wish you could have as friends because right from the start you feel like you’re comfortable with them like you’ve known them for a long time. I was extremely happy to have been their Tuscan wedding photographer and to have been able to leave them a good memory of their wonderful party.

I hope to meet them again, perhaps in Amsterdam, where they currently live. Their marriage was full of special moments, such as the fertility ritual, the money dance and the sirtaki, traditions of Greek origin or the orthodox ceremony of the rite of crowns. They decided to take advantage of all the available spaces of the Villa, thus creating a dynamic outdoor wedding. The bride and groom’s getting ready took place in the rooms inside the villa.

Before the outdoor ceremony, Sophia, according to Greek tradition, hosted her relatives in her room for the fertility ritual. After the exchange of crowns in the garden, the spouses, their witnesses and their close relatives celebrated the religious rite in the small chapel of the Villa. After the aperitif by the pool, before the group photos in front of the villa, we took advantage of 10 minutes to take some wedding couple’s photos among the vineyards of the estate.

The dinner was held in front of the villa’s façade with a beautiful imperial table set with jars of spices and white flowers, illuminated by rows of suspended lights that made the atmosphere warm and welcoming. After toasts, speeches, smiles, and tears of emotion, it was time to cut the cake on the staircase in front of the villa. After that we all moved to the amphitheater for the very special dance of money, a typical Greek ritual according to which the guests give the newlyweds money, attaching them to their clothes while they dance. The typical sirtaki dance kicked off the long night of celebration. I leave you with a small selection of wedding photos at Villa le Piazzole in Florence, I hope you like them!
