Wedding at San Galgano Abbey And Villa Podernovo: Wedding photos in Tuscany
The unfortunate season in the year of covid began for me with this wedding at San Galgano Abbey and Villa Podernovo in the Tuscan countryside. I couldn’t have started better than that for a number of reasons. First of all, because I love very much the deconsecrated Abbey of San Galgano, I find it a really fascinating place, the civil ceremony inside the ancient abbey without a roof has the magical flavor of other times. The second reason concerns the venue of the reception where the bride and groom celebrated their party, Villa Podernovo.
A place that I love very much, both for the beauty and hospitality of Diana, an extremely kind and professional person. The third reason is the spouses Daria and Paolo were really very welcoming, they made me feel like I was part of their families, I thank them very much for this and for the trust they gave me. Last but not least, I have been able to work with people I respect, who I love and who I also attend outside of work and who during this day took care of the video and the photos with me.
Wedding at San Galgano Abbey And Villa Podernovo
The day spent with the bride and groom and their guests began immediately after lunch to take photographs of the bride’s getting ready at Villa Podernovo. The room where Daria has prepared herself is country chic and above all well lit by the natural light that enters the windows. I really enjoy shooting in situations where I find this kind of light because the contrasting effect that you can see in the photographs is just the style that I love and I look for. In situations like this, I always ask the bride if she wants to take some photos using the light in a specific situation. Daria was very welcoming, from our email exchanges, I realized how important the photos were for her.
So all day long she was asking me for the photographs she wanted at the time, and I was asking her if she wanted to go along with my idea. There was a nice synergy that created a wedding at San Galgano Abbey and Villa Podernovo photoshoot, really full of details and special moments. Paolo instead prepared himself in a nearby hotel and my friend and colleague Andrea Fabbrini took care of the photos of his preparation. When the couple asks me for a wedding photoshoot with two photographers, the first person I call to have by my side is him.
We have the same way of working and characteristically we complete ourselves. If you are looking for a wedding photographer in Tuscany and you are wondering whether it is useful to have a second professional photographer, in this article I help you to make clarity, click here.
Wedding ceremony at San Galgano Abbey
The Abbey of San Galgano is splendid and out of the ordinary place to celebrate the civil rite of marriage. The fact that the church does not have a roof, can create problems if it should rain but actually offers a great plan B and the couple photos with the umbrella inside the church are very impressive. Daria arrived at the Abbey, where her bridesmaids were waiting for her, aboard a White Fiat 500 with her father. The ceremony was very exciting, the speeches of the fathers of the bride and groom and the speech of Paolo, moved all the guests. It is often thought that civil ceremonies are colder and less attended than those in church, in fact, it depends a lot on the celebrant and the speeches of the guests, who manage to create a climate of sharing and affection around the spouses.
After the ceremony we took a couple’s photos inside the church, trying to take advantage of the sunlight and the corners where there were not too many tourists. But we immediately returned to the venue because there awaited a second religious ceremony under the ancient oak in the garden of Villa Podernovo.
Wedding dinner at Villa Podernovo under the stars
The wedding dinner was very impressive: long tables lit by candles and strips of lights created an intimate and elegant atmosphere. Complicit also the details of the flowers and the table setting with warm and delicate tones were really very beautiful and out of the ordinary. Thanks to the many toasts, the games of the guests, the surprises of the bride and groom and the many dances between courses, it has created a joyful atmosphere of celebration.
And after the last speech and a funny and moving video dedicated to the bride and groom, the wedding at San Galgano Abbey and Villa Podernovo ended with the cutting of the beautiful wedding cake under the large oak tree in the garden. After all these words, I hope you can find everything you read in the wedding photos at San Galgano Abbey and Villa Podernovo that I have chosen for this selection. I hope you enjoy the photos and they can be an inspiration for your destination wedding in Tuscany.
