Wedding at the Grand Hotel Cavour in Florence

What you’re about to see is a destination wedding in Florence this summer when the pandemic seemed to give us a little respite.

We hoped to the last to be able to do so since Camille and Guillaume and their friends live in France but dreamed of organizing the wedding in Tuscany. And we finally did it. It was a beautiful day, the light of September never disappoints. A small intimate wedding but full of emotions and special moments.

I met Camille and Guillaume shortly before the first March lockdown in Florence. I really like to be able to meet the bride and groom in person even if it is often difficult because they live on the other side of the world. That’s when I get a chance, I don’t miss it.

Camille is one of those brides who think of their marriage in every detail, When we met we talked in detail about everything that should not be missing in their photo album and together we decided the best times to enjoy a beautiful sunset light to make the couple photos to which the bride and groom held much.

It was a destination wedding in Florence that I particularly loved because, in addition to being shot entirely in my beloved city, he made me meet beautiful people: starting with the bride and groom, two simple guys, in love and extremely excited. I admired the richness of the details and the creativity that Camille used to create her own bouquet with paper, participations, the booklet of the church, the original throwing of butterflies at the exit of the church.

And it was a pleasure to meet Eleonora Rontini, the wedding planner who helped the guys to organize the wedding in Florence. A really nice, professional, and handy person, we immediately felt in tune.

Destination wedding in Florence

The wedding photoshoot in Florence began around lunchtime with the bride and groom’s getting ready at the Grand Hotel Cavour in Florence, an elegant hotel in the historic city center, a historic building that combines modern details with Renaissance frescoes. The small roof terrace is the icing on the cake: a space with breathtaking views, between the tower of Palazzo Vecchio and the dome of the Duomo. It will be right here that Camille and Guillaume decided to organize the wedding dinner with their guests.

The religious ceremony was held at the Church of SS.Apostoli in the center of Florence, which the guests reached on foot directly from the hotel. It was fun and certainly original to walk the bride along with her bridesmaids to the church, along with the applause of the tourists and the words of greeting spoken by passers-by.

After the wedding ceremony in the church, we used the light just before sunset to take couple photos on Ponte Santa Trinita, to have Ponte Vecchio as the background of the photos. A quick walk on the Lungarno to then take the car and reach a beautiful vineyard on the first hills of Florence. It is here that we could enjoy a wonderful golden light for the couple photos among the vineyards. Camille and Guillaume wanted to have pictures together in the Tuscan countryside and I have satisfied them with extreme pleasure.

Back at the Grand Hotel Cavour in Florence in time to enjoy the blue sky after sunset and start dinner by candlelight surrounded by the most beautiful monuments of the city illuminated.

Between one course and another, between speeches and games organized by the guests, between laughter and tears of emotion, it was a flash to get to the cake cutting, the first dance and the closing of this special day of celebration.

So I leave you to a small selection of photos from the destination wedding in Florence by Camille and Guillaume, I hope you can find what you read in my words and that the photos can be an inspiration if you want to organize your wedding in Florence.
